From its’ inception, ESM has been actively involved in the community, focusing on school programs and families. ESM has collaborated with the local school district, parent groups, the City of San Jose, and local businesses to raise money and replace outdated and dangerous playground equipment at schools. ESM has donated large amounts of materials to RAFT, Resource Area for Teaching. RAFT, a non-profit organization for local teachers and community groups, provides donated materials from local businesses and individuals to be used in classrooms. The donated materials from RAFT reach more than 400,000 children in the Bay Area through its 7250 members. These donations and community funding allows RAFT to make a positive impact on the quality of education in schools and the variety of activities that community groups can offer children.
ESM works with Local Agencies such as Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, a non-profit organization which annually serves 27,000 individuals of ALL backgrounds and beliefs with more than 45 services. During December 2007, ESM worked with Catholic Charities through their “adopt a family” program and provided gifts of clothing, toys, and food for every member of a family in need during the holiday season.
