Cerquads are a surface mount single layer ceramic package of pressed powder (92% Alumina), available in a variety of body sizes, and having the top coated with solder glass. Lead frames are embedded into the glass to create both internal die connection and external board connection. The leads forms are flat, J-bend, or gullwing, and the footprint compatible with PQFP. The lead pitch is based on JEDEC or EIAJ standards. The JEDEC outlines have lead spacing of .025” or .050”. EIAJ outlines have lead spacing measured in millimeters, .65 mm, .80mm, and 1.00mm. Packages can be hermetic and non-hermetic, require a ceramic cap and do not have a metallized seal ring. Some packages have a ceramic window frame attached to the top base providing extra strength.
